Join us for a Celebration of Spring as we honor Jodi Greenbaum, Heritage Pointe Board Chair and recipient of the Woman of Valor Award for 2023.

You’ll also hear from Keynote Speaker Sarah Hurwitz, author of “Here All Along: Finding Meaning, Spirituality, and a Deeper Connection to Life – in Judaism (After Finally Choosing to Look There).”

Proceeds from this event support Heritage Pointe’s mission to provide services incorporating Jewish traditions and lifestyles to the elderly and to provide financial assistance to Residents in need, to the extent supported by the community.

Sarah Hurwitz is the author of “Here All Along: Finding Meaning, Spirituality, and a Deeper Connection to Life – in Judaism (After Finally Choosing to Look There),” which was a finalist for two National Jewish Book Awards and for the Sami Rohr Prize for Jewish Literature.

Sarah offers audiences a behind-the-scenes look at life in the White House, where she worked as a senior speechwriter from 2009 to 2017, working for two of the most inspiring and influential women in the world.

She also shares her advice on effective storytelling, providing concrete tips for how to create a moving, persuasive narrative that breaks through the noise and has a lasting impact.

Sarah has been profiled in The Washington Post, People. com, The Boston Globe, and The Guardian; interviewed on The Today Show, Morning Joe, Amanpour & Co., and NPR; and featured in The Forward as one of 50 Jews who impacted American life in 2016 and 2019.

Heritage Pointe Board Chair,
Recipient of the Woman of Valor Award for 2023

Jodi Greenbaum is a community leader and philanthropist, currently serving her third term as the Chair of Heritage Pointe. Prior to her role at Heritage Pointe, Jodi held several leadership positions at Jewish Federation of Orange County, including President of the organization.

Jodi’s passion for community involvement and education led her to serve on the board of Tarbut V’Torah Community Day School, which her three children attended. Her interest in Heritage Pointe and the well-being of seniors began when her father-in-law lived in the community.

Jodi was inspired by the dedication of Heritage Pointe’s employees to provide the best possible care for their residents, especially those who are frailer and require additional support. This led to her helping create Sage Living, a new all-inclusive wing at Heritage Pointe funded by generous donors.

Jodi and her husband, Martin, reside in Newport Beach, where they are active members of the local Chabad community. Prior to her volunteer efforts, Jodi worked as an award-winning journalist in Southern California. Her commitment to giving back to her community and improving the lives of seniors has made a lasting impact on Orange County and beyond.

Eileen Garbutt

Heritage Pointe Board Member,
32nd Annual Luncheon & Boutique Chair

Since moving to California and Orange County in 1986, Eileen has been involved with the Jewish community. She served as President of Women’s Division of Jewish Federation, President of the Women of Temple Bat Yahm, and worked as the Women’s Philanthropy Director for Federation for 17 years.

Eileen currently serves on the boards of Heritage Pointe, Women of Temple Bat Yahm, the Reform Temple of Laguna Woods, and the Atid Division of Hadassah.

Her interests include pickleball, canasta, knitting, jigsaw puzzles, and cooking … and spending time with her seven grandchildren.
