CAREGIVER

Schedules Available:
6:30 am – 3:00 pm:
- Mondays and Tuesdays (Part-time Position)
2:30 pm – 11:00 pm
- Friday through Monday (Full-time Position)
- Sunday through Wednesday (Full-time Position)
Job Overview:
Caregivers in our community ensure and promote ongoing social and physical stimulation, spiritual, cultural and intellectual needs of the assisted living residents. They assist with supervision and maintaining resident safety especially during periods of heaviest care needs. In addition, caregivers provide direct personal care, enhance resident dining experience, and help maintain clean environment. Caregivers perform and participate in daily activities and events for all residents while promoting resident well-being and satisfaction through support with all activities of daily living.
Resident Care:
- Provide assistance as required for residents’ activities of daily living. Records care given daily.
- Ability to assess and to respond to resident and staff medical emergencies following protocol & basic first aid training.
- Report resident changes to LVN Supervisor or delegate and documents same.
- Ability to transfer residents with appropriate assistance. (i.e., from bed to wheelchair or from wheelchair to toilet).
- Lead, participate, encourage and monitor resident participation in social activities.
- Report changes in resident behavior, mental and physical condition.
- Follow safety guidelines in the facility, including proper lifting techniques & universal precautions when providing care to residents.
- Assures that residents’ personal clothing is clean and in good repair.
- Ability to organize care and services to the assigned group of residents achieving the time lines for attendance at meal times and activities as desired to attend by the Resident.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect for resident’s privacy. Complies with residents’ rights.
- Assist with the training and orientation of new staff as it pertains to the role of the caregiver.
- Clean up following resident accidents, such as diarrhea, vomiting, etc.
- Gives daily report to oncoming shift personnel.
- Follows instructions given by Director and/or supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience:
- Six (6) months experience working in Assisted or Alzheimer program preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and proper transfer techniques preferred.
- General knowledge of oxygen tanks and equipment preferred.
Job Requirements:
- Current first aid certificate required OR ability to get after 30 days of hire
- Ability to work with geriatric population, medical professionals, families and staff
- Fluent English speaking, reading and writing skills
- Ability to read and interpret written procedures and directions.
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical/TB test and obtain fingerprint clearance as required by our licensure
- Ability to work most holidays.
- Ability to show proof of COVID vaccination and booster (if eligible) or medical/religious exception

CONTROLLER
Full Job Description
Heritage Pointe, voted one of Orange County’s TOP PLACES TO WORK AND LIVE, is looking for a Controller to join our Accounting team. We are a non-profit Jewish Senior Living Community that assists residents with Daily Living needs from dressing, dining, entertainment, transportation, and religious/spiritual practices to support a resident’s lifestyle in the Jewish tradition.
Schedule: Monday through Friday – 40 hours/week schedule. On site only.
Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Controller/Comptroller who will be responsible for the development, coordination and administration of Heritage Pointe’s policies on finance, accounting, regulatory reporting, resident accounts, internal controls, financial analysis, and budgeting.
Essential Job Duties:
· Contribute to Heritage Pointe’s strategy, tactics, forecasting, and overall efforts to continually improve performance and remain financially viable.
· Manage all finance functions, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliations, trust accounting, workers compensation, financial statements and budget development.
· Complete financial packets for monthly Board and Finance Committee meetings.
· Assure that adequate financial records and cost reports are submitted to authorized government agencies as required by current regulations.
· Insure compliance with tax laws and regulations, and provide a planning mechanism to insure Heritage Pointe pays the appropriate taxes.
· Provide functional leadership to the accounting department.
· Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
· Proficient English oral, and written skills
· Strong writing and communication skills
· Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint/Publisher, & Outlook.
· Ability to pass pre-employment physical/TB test and obtain fingerprint clearance as required by our licensure
Required Experience:
· MBA in Accounting or Finance.
· Certified Public Accountant preferred.
· Experience in non-profit accounting.
