Volunteers like you make life at Heritage Pointe richer and better every day. It’s good for you, for your heart, for your soul, and it’s the best thing you’ll do all day. Adults and teens are welcome! We also welcome children’s groups, civic groups, college clubs and B’nai Mitzvah projects.

Heritage Pointe is like a beautiful small town. Volunteer with us and soon everyone is happy to see you and greets you by name!

Our community is truly where the past, present and future intersect! You can hear living history every visit if you take the time to listen. You’ll see how this amazing place hosts people and events from all over Orange County, and how Heritage Pointe is a vibrant section of the Jewish Community.

2023 Volunteer Opportunities

GIFT SHOP

Work Tuesdays or Thursdays or Sundays, helping Residents and visitors make purchases, gift wrap, and run the register. 5 hour commitment per week.

GAMES

Play board games, chess, checkers, RummyKub, Scrabble or Connect4 (just a sample of games we love to play!) with Residents for an afternoon. Puzzles (300 pieces or less) are also a fun activity. 2 hour commitment.

MEDICAL ESCORT

Help Residents get safely to their doctor appointments and home again. Transportation provided. Volunteers 18+ please. Approximately 3 hour commitment.

SHABBAT USHER

Friday evenings at 4:00pm—-help Residents get a seat, a siddur, and see the Rabbi. Approximately 2 hour commitment.

DO YOU Wii?

Looking for someone to lead Wii Bowling twice a month at 10:30am on Thursdays. Do you have another favorite Wii sport that Residents can play? 2 hour commitment.

PARTICIPATE IN OUTINGS

Residents visit museums, the beach, and other popular destinations on a Heritage Pointe bus. We need volunteers to help Residents on and off the bus and to assist during our adventure! Approximately 3 hour commitment.

Centerpieces for Resident Dining Room

Your group can make and bring 25 small centerpieces for use on each table in the main Dining Room.

ENTERTAINMENT

Can you play an instrument or sing? Do you have 30-45 minutes of musical selections that you can offer Residents? We have a beautiful piano lounge for volunteers to offer musical recitals to entertain Residents. 2 hour commitment.

CRAFT ACTIVITY

You can spearhead a fun and easy craft hour for Residents. Let us know your ideas: painting, origami, and decorated photo frames are examples of simpler and easier craft programs. We will supply the materials if you supply the instruction! 2 hour commitment at Heritage Pointe.

Heritage Pointe is an official Certifying Organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Award.

There are only 487 nonprofits in America that are certified at this date. In 2003, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity. This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action. The PVSA has continued under each administration, honoring the volunteers who are using their time and talents to help our nation. Led by the Corporation for National and Community Service and managed in partnership with Points of Light, this program allows Certifying Organizations to recognize outstanding volunteers.
