FAMILY OF FRIENDS

You can make a difference

Joining Heritage Pointe’s Family of Friends is a great way to meet new friends who share a common interest in helping our Residents. There are several fundraising events and activities to participate in such as movie groups, lunch groups, mah-jongg groups, bridge groups, book groups … the list is endless!

History

An Invitation to Join Family of Friends (formerly Heritage Pointe Chapters)

We know how important it is to honor our history. The very first Heritage Pointe community Chapter was founded over 30 years ago in Laguna Woods by a dynamic and dedicated woman named Sofia Hoffman, who, a few years later, became Heritage Pointe’s very first Resident! Soon after, vibrant chapters were created in south Orange County, Anaheim, Huntington Beach, north Orange County, Long Beach, Mission Viejo, and Newport Beach/Irvine. At one time, there were eight active Chapters with over 1,600 members. But we know that life runs in cycles, and there are many reasons why Chapters that flourished in past decades are no longer active in the same ways.

To again encourage the participation of as many members of our Jewish community as possible, we are pleased to share some exciting changes to the Chapters. We will now be known as the Heritage Pointe Family of Friends. This is an inclusive organization that welcomes participation not only from individuals and couples, but also families, children and community organizations.

The purpose of our reorganization is to invite everyone interested in Heritage Pointe to come together “under one tent” while still encouraging groups to continue to participate in their own long-standing and successful support efforts. North Orange County and the Newport Beach/Irvine Chapters continue to support Heritage Pointe through their own activities, and we know that friends from some of the other former Chapters will continue to sponsor special projects that support our Residents.
