September 24-25, 2021 Shabbat Chol ha-mo’ed Sukkot
19 Tishrei 5782
Two more holidays are coming!!
Shemini Atzeret (the 8th day of Assembly) concludes the Sukkot holiday. Simchat Torah follows the next day. In Israel and in progressive congregations, Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah are celebrated on the same day
On Simchat Torah (rejoicing with the Torah), we conclude the cycle of public Torah reading and immediately begin the next cycle. We remove the white holiday covers and put back the brightly colored covers that dress the scrolls during the year. We wave flags and sing in celebration. Cantor Arie Shikler will join us to chant Torah and to bring his music to our holiday celebration.
Shemini Atzeret Service: Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 10:00 AM
Simchat Torah Service: Weds, Sept. 29 at 10:00 AM with Rabbi Sherman & Cantor Shikler
