COVID-19 Virus Healthcare Advisory Protocol for Heritage Pointe

Dear Families and Community Members of Heritage Pointe, 

 

Heritage Pointe has established a healthcare protocol advisory plan to help secure the health and safety of our Residents and staff as we learn more about the COVID -19 virus.  The Heritage Pointe Community is adhering to all recommendations suggested by the CDC and state and federal agencies. Below is a listing of steps that are being implemented at this time.  Should you or any family member have any questions regarding these procedures, please email info@heritagepointe.org and we will get back to you promptly.  We thank you for your concern and support in helping our professional staff members move through this fluid situation in a calm and controlled manner.

  • Town Hall Meeting: Mike Silverman, Heritage Pointe’s CEO, held a Virtual Town Hall meeting for Residents on Monday, March 16th. This will be broadcast in all apartments on the in-house channel. Residents were able to send their questions to Mike, so he can address all concerns during the virtual meeting.

 

  • Visitors: Non-essential visitors (including family members) will be prohibited from entering the facility. We will have staff positioned at the entry to ensure this procedure is followed.

 

  • Residents leaving the building for non-essential reasons: We are encouraging Residents not to leave the facility, although we cannot prohibit this. We are emphasizing that for the safety of themselves and other Residents, they should remain on property unless they have medically necessary appointments. We have cancelled all outings except for necessary doctor’s appointments on transportation days or with the Concierge driver if the doctor’s appointment cannot be scheduled for the medical transportation days.

 

  • All In-Person Programming is Cancelled: Any programs we had scheduled, where Residents would gather in a group, have been cancelled. Instead we are increasing the offerings through the in-house TV channel # 1960. 

 

  • Vendors (deliveries): We will have deliveries to the outside doors and then our staff will bring items into the building.

 

  • Vendors (painters, flooring, maintenance service): Vendors we use for inside work will be allowed in the building for necessary work only. 

 

  • New Resident move-ins: These will continue as planned. 

 

  • Tours: For inquiries, meetings with potential Residents/families, and tours, our Director of Admissions, Ginger Thomas, will utilize the website and the facetime app on Alexa. She will also provide virtual tours of the facility.

 

  • Gift Shop: The Gift Shop hours for next week are as follows:

    • Tuesday, March 17          11am – 2pm

    • Wednesday, March 18    11am – 4pm (tentative)

    • Thursday, March 19         11am – 2pm

    • Friday, March 20             Closed

 

  • Shopping Items: If a Resident needs items from stores we would normally take them to on scheduled outings, staff will purchase items for them. Residents will need to fill out a form from the reception desk and provide cash for the purchase(s).

 

  • Building Supplies/Paper Products: We are looking at our supplies (toilet paper/paper towels, etc.) to ensure there are no shortages going forward. Outside of our normal restocking schedule, any requests for these products will be provided on an as needed basis. Any questions about this can be directed to Scott Lee, our Director of Buildings and Grounds.

 

  • Guest Stays: All guest stays will be cancelled.

 

  • Movie Theater: The movie theater will be closed until further notice.

  • Dining Services: The Dining Room is closed effective Saturday, March 14, 2020. Changes to our dining program have been made to protect our  Resident's health and safety during this period. All meals will be delivered to each Resident apartment by Dining Services at no additional charge.

  • Meal Delivery Procedures for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner:

  • Breakfast Meal Delivery: a non-select Boxed Breakfast will be delivered between 8am and 10am daily; this meal will consist of fruit, juice, cereal, muffin or danish, hard boiled egg, yogurt and coffee or tea.  Those Residents on special diets will be sent “alternatives” automatically.

  • Residents will receive Lunch and Dinner Menu packets tomorrow morning to complete daily.

  • Dining Staff will pick up your completed Lunch & Dinner menus at designated (pick-up time are printed on the menus)

  • Lunch Meal Delivery: will be delivered between 11:30 and 1:30pm daily.

  • Dinner Meal Delivery: will be delivered between 4:00pm and 6:00pm daily.

  • No phone calls are required for meal service; however please use the number below for meal service concerns and leave a complete message

  • Religious Services:   We will not have Residents and guests gather for both Friday night and Saturday morning Shabbat services in the Synagogue. Instead, Rabbi Sherman’s services will be recorded and can be played in Resident apartments.

 

  • Pesach Seders: Are for Residents only. We will determine at a later date if any further changes are needed for this.

 

  • Hair Salon: We will close the salon until further notice.
