Heritage Pointe Living
Rental Assistance
When Heritage Pointe opened its doors in 1990, the Jewish Community wanted to provide retirement living in the Jewish tradition both for those able to afford our services and for those with limited financial means. Today, Heritage Pointe, through the generous gifts of the Jewish community, continues to subsidize many individuals in need. Currently, 20% of our apartments are available to residents on scholarship, so it is important that we select those with the greatest need for financial assistance.
The application for the scholarship program requires family members to provide documents including specific tax returns. The application and all application materials remain in the strictest of confidence.
Screening Criteria for Applicants:
  • What is the urgency for placement?
  • Is the applicant a Holocaust survivor?
  • What is the applicant’s income or resources to pay any part of their residency?
  • What type and degree of need does an applicant require, other than financial?
  • What is the applicant’s present living condition?
  • How active has the applicant been in maintaining a Jewish lifestyle?
  • What support systems are presently in place or are available to the applicant?
  • What are the benefits the applicant will receive from the health and housing services and Jewish components offered by Heritage Pointe?
Heritage Pointe is licensed by the State of California as a RCFE. As such, it is a requirement of the State that Heritage Pointe is able to meet an applicant’s needs. Therefore, before admission is approved, a health assessment is conducted by our Healthcare Services Department.
